What to Expect From a Professional Pet Sitter

If this is your first time utilizing a professional pet sitter (Pet Care Specialist), you may wonder what to expect. This will vary based on service. For Tallahassee Lassie Pet Care, we offer a wide array of services, mostly specializing in pet sitting and dog walking. We also offer concierge care with vet transit, medication pick up, pet supply shopping, consulting/parenting advice, continuing basic training, leash training, and occasional field trips when appropriate. We evaluate the need for more services each quarter, and dog walking and pet sitting remain the bulk of our offerings.

For your first interaction with us, you will have a meet and greet with our owner or someone from the administration team; this will be either in person or via video call.

Intake forms that you've been given will be discussed together in depth. We will ask any questions and add to your "pet profiles" as needed. You can expect most professional services to match you with a sitter that best suits your needs. All team leads are CPR and First Aid Trained / CPPS Certified, as well as members of Professional Pet Sitters International and National Association of Pet Professionals. All team members receive ongoing education and are all insured and bonded employees, giving pet parents peace of mind.
For services, we do take a team approach, but often assign a primary sitter and a secondary sitter for backup. Due to having a team environment, it’s manageable for one Pet Care Specialist to step in for another in case of illness or injury. We tend to match your pets to their best fit, but the entire team is award-winning for pet sitting and dog walking services.

Our team utilizes the application “Time To Pet,” which is available for both iPhone and Android users. Pet parents and specialists can communicate via messaging, and visits are recorded through the app. Profiles include client information, pet documents, and any other notes on visits. The app records the amount of time spent at each visit and also the GPS location of the Pet Care Specialist. Your specialist will leave pet visit reports indicating tasks completed varying from dog walking, feeding and watering, and locking doors or arming alarm systems. You get real time updates from sitters along with pictures of your furry friends to ensure that you know exactly what is going on with your pets during visits.
